Boozy Shamrock Shake
Calling all 21+ who really want to treat themselves! This homemade Boozy Shamrock Shake will knock your socks off. For a limited time every year around Saint Patrick’s Day, McDonalds will feature their Shamrock Shake, which is essentially a vanilla milkshake blended with “Shamrock Shake Syrup” aka some sort of mint syrup. This version is better for a number of reasons - you can have it year round, it incorporates Thin Mint Girlscout cookies, and most importantly… there is booze!
The ingredients you need are:
2oz Vodka - my favorite is Tito's Handmade Vodka
1oz Peppermint Schnapps
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/4 cup oat milk
4 Thin Mint cookies (plus 1 to garnish if you want to be fancy)
1/4 cup Hershey’s chocolate syrup
Whipped cream and cherry to top with
**For aesthetic purposes, I added a couple drops of green food coloring to more closely match the look of a Shamrock Shake, this step is not necessary if you don’t have the food coloring!
All you need to do is add everything to your blender and blend until smooth! Pour into your favorite glass, top with whipped cream, more Thin Mints, chocolate syrup and a cherry! This one packs a punch AND is totally delicious. Save for St Patty’s Day or next time you want to drink your dessert. ;) Cheers!
